F*#%!<\/li>\n<li>We tweeted this out on Monday, but if you missed it, here it is again: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/insights\/2013\/04\/five-myths-of-two-factor-authentication-and-the-reality\/\">5 Myths of Two-Factor Authentication<\/a> via Wired.<\/li>\n<li>Brian Pennington has a good outline about <a href=\"http:\/\/brianpennington.co.uk\/2013\/02\/27\/what-happens-after-a-data-breach\/\">what happens after a data breach<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter users in Japan are encountering an <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.trendmicro.com\/trendlabs-security-intelligence\/browser-crashers-hit-japanese-users\/\">annoying &#8220;browser crasher.&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>California is introducing a bill in the state Assembly that would update the state&#8217;s data collection and privacy laws. This &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2013\/04\/03\/california-right-to-know-act\/\">Right to Know Act<\/a>&#8221; would &#8220;compel companies to disclose, upon request, what data about a customer they hold and with whom they have shared it in the past year.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/02\/anonymous-north-korea-cyber-warefare-410854\/\">Anonymous stole 15,000 membership records<\/a> from Uriminzokkiri.com, a website that provides propaganda from North Korea&#8217;s central news agency. The hacking group has kicked off &#8220;Operation Free Korea&#8221; with the goal of bringing free democracy to the troubled country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>From the Intego Blog<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lysa shares some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/jailbreak-tidbits-from-around-the-blogosphere\/\">jailbreak tidbits from around the blogosphere<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ever wondered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/what-does-your-antivirus-scanner-do-under-the-hood\/\">what your antivirus scanner is actually doing<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/mozilla-patches-11-critical-flaws-with-firefox-20-update\/\">Mozilla released a Firefox 20 update<\/a> and patched some critical flaws. Opera, meanwhile, released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/opera-software-releases-opera-12-15-for-mac\/\">12.15 for the Mac<\/a>, while Microsoft has announced they&#8217;re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/microsoft-ending-support-for-office-for-mac-2008\/\">ending support for Office for Mac 2008<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Brian Krebs has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/flashback-author-identified-by-brian-krebs\/\">identified the Flashback malware author<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s becoming increasingly difficult to try and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intego.com\/mac-security-blog\/how-to-maintain-your-privacy-on-the-internet\/\">maintain your privacy on the Internet<\/a>, but we&#8217;ve shared some tips on how to preserve a little privacy when you go online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Apple News<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>An <a href=\"http:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/13\/04\/02\/apples-intelligent-security-system-can-tell-intruders-apart-from-mistyped-passwords\">Apple patent granted on Tuesday<\/a> includes a technique that can apparently tell the difference between a user incorrectly entering his or her security credentials and an intruder trying to access a secure network.<\/li>\n<li>Lately a group of <a href=\"http:\/\/thenextweb.com\/apple\/2013\/03\/29\/imessage-denial-of-service-prank-spams-users-rapidly-with-messages-crashes-ios-messages-app\/\">iOS developers have been the targets of a sort of &#8220;denial of service prank&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0where they&#8217;re getting spammed with tons of texts that can lock up the Messages app.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/05\/apple-sales-windows-sales-2013-gartner-416934\/\">Apple devices are projected to outsell Windows devices<\/a> for the first time this year.<\/li>\n<li>Apparently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/technology\/2013\/apr\/02\/apple-designed-iphone-5-before-death-steve-jobs?\">the iPhone 5 was designed before the death of Steve Jobs<\/a>. The next two phone designs will have the influence of Tim Cook, the current CEO.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/13\/04\/04\/apples-slide-to-unlock-patent-invalidated-in-german-litigation\">Apple&#8217;s &#8220;slide to unlock&#8221; patent has been invalidated<\/a> by a German court. This decision can be appealed, but for now Motorola has won the ruling to invalidate Apple&#8217;s patent request.<\/li>\n<li>You may have noticed a little <a href=\"http:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2013\/04\/05\/apple-online-store-updated-with-ios-friendly-navigation-bar-other-tweaks\/\">facelift in Apple&#8217;s online store<\/a> &#8212; it&#8217;s got an iOS friendly nav bar, larger search results, and other slight changes.<\/li>\n<li>According to comScore, <a href=\"http:\/\/thenextweb.com\/mobile\/2013\/04\/04\/comscore-apple-increases-lead-as-top-us-smartphone-maker-samsung-gains-android-down-second-month-in-a-row\/\">Apple has increased their lead as the top US smartphone maker<\/a>. Samsung has made some gains while Android is down for the second straight month.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/13\/04\/03\/on-its-third-birthday-apples-ipad-looks-back-at-years-of-comical-criticism\">Apple Insider celebrates the iPad&#8217;s third birthday<\/a> by taking a trip down memory lane and pulling up initial criticism of the tablet.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of anniversaries, April 1st was Apple&#8217;s 37th birthday&#8230;or was it? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.networkworld.com\/community\/blog\/wozniak-questions-long-accepted-date-day-one-\">Steve Wozniak questions the April 1st anniversary date<\/a> and thinks the actual date is the 4th or 5th of April.<\/li>\n<li>CNBC&#8217;s Jim Cramer criticizes Apple by saying it&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/100609331\">becoming the JC Penney of tech<\/a>,&#8221; predicting the tech giant&#8217;s next product will be a huge disappointment.<\/li>\n<li>Will you soon be able to buy a <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/04\/apple-iwatch-analysis-samsung-410431\/\">smartwatch from Apple<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/13\/04\/02\/rumor-ios-7-to-see-significant-overhaul-but-behind-schedule\">iOS 7 is rumored to be behind schedule<\/a> and facing a &#8220;significant overhaul.&#8221; Meanwhile, evad3rs&#8217; pod2g confirmed that they are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2013\/04\/02\/pod2g-confirm-no-6-1-3-jb\/\">not currently working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Apparently the Drug Enforcement Administration has complained that <a href=\"http:\/\/news.cnet.com\/8301-13578_3-57577887-38\/apples-imessage-encryption-trips-up-feds-surveillance\/\">messages sent with Apple&#8217;s encrypted chat service are &#8220;impossible to intercept,&#8221; even with a warrant<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Notable Tech News<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In the wake of Google Reader closing its doors July 1st, Reader announced that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reederapp.com\/reader\/\">Reader for Mac and iPad are free<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Is too much tablet time detrimental to child development? This New York Times article looks at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bits.blogs.nytimes.com\/2013\/03\/31\/disruptions-what-does-a-tablet-do-to-the-childs-mind\/\">the use of gadgets during early development<\/a> and whether they hinder learning about social cues and real interactions.<\/li>\n<li>Surprise, surprise: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/latest-os-share-data-shows-windows-still-dominating-in-pcs-7000013351\/\">Windows is still the dominant operating system in PCs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.geek.com\/mobile\/blackberry-10-tells-your-friends-when-youre-watching-porn-1550718\/\">The BlackBerry Z10 automatically tells your contacts<\/a> list when you&#8217;re watching videos online. Good if you&#8217;re checking out a cute kitty video, not-so-good if you&#8217;re sneaking a peek at some raunchy porn.<\/li>\n<li>First T-Mobile eliminated cell phone contracts, and now <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/04\/verizon-service-contracts-ceo-interview-414605\/\">Verizon said they&#8217;d drop contracts<\/a> if their customers demanded it.<\/li>\n<li>The NYPD spent three weeks looking for a mugger, and when they failed they released a video of the attack online. The result? Commenters <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/speakeasy\/alyssa-figueroa\/nypd-couldnt-find-mugger-3-weeks-internet-commenters-catch-him-1-hour\">figured out his identity within an hour<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Random Awesomeness<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you&#8217;ve ever longed for furniture to grow like those &#8220;just add water&#8221; dinosaur sponges you used to play with as a kid, this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/technology-22015184\">self-assembling furniture that &#8220;grows like popcorn&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0could soon end up in your living room.<\/li>\n<li>A reddit user uploaded an album containing photos of <a href=\"http:\/\/imgur.com\/a\/rAZLL#7\">Tim Cook when he was in high school<\/a>. Highlights: he was on the yearbook staff, was voted &#8220;Most Studious,&#8221; and had some pretty girly handwriting.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The claw swipe gesture for the iPad is a multitasker&#8217;s dream &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cultofmac.com\/221822\/secret-ios-gestures-the-claw-swipe-ipad-multitasking-made-easy-ios-tips\/\">check it out<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>This got passed around the office and it&#8217;s partially hilarious, partially tortuous &#8212; it&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xOLqGxuvf08&amp;feature=youtu.be\">grid displaying all six Star Wars films simultaneously<\/a>.
