In a blog post entitled A New Suite of Safety Tools<\/a>, Facebook has announced that they are “starting to introduce” Two Factor Authentication, which will help prevent hackers from accessing your Facebook account. The principle of this is to require additional authentication when you access Facebook from a different device – a different computer than usual, or a mobile device. As the blog post explains:<\/p>\n

\nIf you turn this new feature on, we’ll ask you to enter a code anytime you try to log into Facebook from a new device. This additional security helps confirm that it’s really you trying to log in.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Facebook hacking can be a serious problem, as your reputation can be at stake. In addition, anyone who can access your Facebook account also has access to personal information belonging to your friends.
