Bothe of these updates contain patches for security issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/security\/known-vulnerabilities\/firefox40.html#firefox4.0.1\">Firefox 4.0.1<\/a> contains three security fixes, two of them for critical vulnerabilities. Updates were also issued for older versions of Firefox, moving their version numbers to 3.5.19 and 3.6.17. Users can get the latest version using the built-in auto-updater in Firefox.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozillamessaging.com\/en-US\/thunderbird\/3.1.10\/releasenotes\/\">Thunderbird 3.1.10<\/a> has also been updated, but no specific information on security fixes is available at this time. This update most likely contains the same fixes as Firefox 3.6, since it uses the same HTML rendering engine.
