We weren&#8217;t the only ones stunned by this approach; customers and security specialists around the world criticized Adobe for leaving customers vulnerable to known security threats.  <\/p>\n<p>Well, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/psirt\/2012\/05\/update-to-security-bulletins-for-adobe-illustrator-apsb12-10-adobe-photoshop-apsb12-11-and-adobe-flash-professional-apsb12-12.html\">Adobe has changed their tune<\/a>, and will be providing security updates for the CS5.5 versions of Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash Professional. As the company states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWe are in the process of resolving the vulnerabilities addressed in these Security Bulletins in Adobe Illustrator CS5.x, Adobe Photoshop CS5.x (12.x) and Adobe Flash Professional CS5.x, and will update the respective Security Bulletins once the patches are available.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s a good thing their changed their approach. What they were doing is a very bad precedent; users who cannot upgrade still need to be protected from security threats.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adobe was initially going to provide security updates only as part of a paid upgrade to their Creative Suite.
